Not So Good News for MyQuilt Blog

I finally got a response from the webhosting company this afternoon. They said that the attack on the server that hosts MyQuiltBlog.com had rendered the backup files unusable. The only way to restore the website was to reinstall the software that runs MyQuiltBlog.com. I knew that I had saved a backup of MQB back in April, so I thought I could at least restore it to that point. After reinstalling the software, the database was empty...no blogs, users, etc. I tried restoring the April backup several times and each time got an error.

The next step is to contact the software developers to see if they can offer any help in restoring April backup. I'll let you know what happens when I find out what can be done about the backup.

So, the Good News is that MyQuiltBlog.com exists again, but the bad news is that it is the blogs are not back in place yet. Keep your fingers crossed that I can get the April backup to work!

  1. I'm sad to hear that the archives of our blog may be lost. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed too.

  3. Auntie Em, I am sad about this also, but I know that we should be able to get that April backup in place since the site software is now working. I hope to hear something today about this. Keep crossing those fingers and toes!

Sam, Wait until we get the backup in place. If you start something new now, it will be overwritten by the back up. I'll check...I may have an email address for Lane. I'll let you know. :)
